Panel on International Investment Arbitration and Third Party Funding in International Arbitration

Kadir Has University Faculty of Law held The Panel on International Investment Arbitration and Third Party Funding in International Arbitration on May 10, 2018 in Kadir Has University, Cibali Hall. In the panel, Erdem & Erdem's senior lawyer Fatih Işık gave a speech on "Third Party Funding in International Arbitration". Fatih Isik mentioned the definition of third party funding, its implementation, effects on the parties and arbitrators and some of the experienced problems.

The attendants have discussed several points on negotiations for funding agreements, the parties’ position, needs and expectations, the potential effect of existence of a funder on plausibility of claims, the amendments concerning third party funding made on international rules regulating impartiality and independence of the arbitrators and the effects of the funding on the conduct of the arbitration proceedings.
