GAR Live: Istanbul 2023 Conference
Global Arbitration Review (GAR) hosted its tenth annual GAR Live: Istanbul Conference on June 22, 2023, at Çırağan Palace Kempinski.
The conference, where Erdem & Erdem was also among its sponsors, was attended by prominent arbitration practitioners and lawyers from Türkiye and around the world, as well as important personalities from the business world, explored the future of arbitration on a national and worldwide scale.
Erdem & Erdem Founder and Senior Partner Prof. Dr. H. Ercüment Erdem was among the speakers in the panel on “The Istanbul Fireside Chat”with Jingzhao Tao from Arbitration Chambers and Patrick Taylor from Debevoise & Plimpton.
During the conference, speakers and participants evaluated the role of co-arbitrators and secretary in proceedings, artificial intelligence and arbitration, enforcement of arbitral awards, international arbitration in an era of increasing sanctions, and the procedural and enforceability issues arising from sanctions.
