Bilgi University - Istanbul International Construction Law Conferences 2025
Erdem & Erdem Founder & Senior Partner Prof. Dr. H. Ercüment Erdem, chaired the second session of the Istanbul International Construction Law Conferences – V, which was held on 23 May 2025 at the InterContinental Hotel Istanbul.
This year marked the 10th anniversary of this prestigious conference series, jointly organized by İstanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Law and Schellenberg Wittmer. The 2025 theme, “Construction Projects in Times of Conflict”, addressed the critical legal implications of geopolitical uncertainty on construction contracts and investments.
Prof. Dr. Ercüment Erdem moderated Session 2: “The Armed Conflict Has Arisen: Contractual Issues in Case of Conflict”, guiding discussions on the impact of sanctions and export control issues, force majeure and hardship clauses and navigating legal complexities when conflict disrupts contract execution.
This session brought together esteemed international and local experts to offer deep insights on contractual resilience in volatile environments.
