On 26 June 2025, ICC Switzerland hosted its first ICC Arbitration Reception at the Dolder Grand Hotel in Zurich, followed by a networking dinner at Brasserie Schiller. This notable event brought together prominent arbitration practitioners and academics from Türkiye and Switzerland, and marked an important step in advancing cross-border dialogue and cooperation in the field of international arbitration.

Prof. Dr. Ercüment Erdem, Founder and Senior Partner of Erdem & Erdem and Chair of the ICC Global Commercial Law and Practice Commission, took part as a speaker in a panel moderated by Dr. Diana Akikol, Member of the ICC Court. The panel addressed the cultural expectations of clients and stakeholders in Türkiye and Switzerland, as well as procedural considerations in ICC arbitration proceedings.

Prof. Dr. Ercüment Erdem shared his expertise on the comparative procedural nuances of ICC arbitration, discussed the alignment of party expectations across jurisdictions, and reflected on developments shaping arbitral practice in an increasingly interconnected global legal landscape.

The event also featured a keynote address delivered by Ms. Bennar Aydoğdu and Prof. Dr. Korkut Özkorkut, Co-Chairs of the ICC Türkiye Arbitration and ADR Commission, and a second panel moderated by Dr. Paolo Michele Patocchi, which focused on tribunal-counsel-ICC interaction, including arbitrator appointments and challenges.

This inaugural edition served not only as a dynamic platform for substantive exchange but also as a catalyst for strengthening institutional ties between the arbitration communities of Türkiye and Switzerland.

We extend our appreciation to all contributors and sponsors whose efforts made this significant initiative possible.
