Tilbe Birengel, Senior Associate at Erdem & Erdem, moderated the third session of the event titled "The Battle of .com Primer on Domain Name Disputes and its Resolutions" on Thursday, October 6.
The session concentrated on the rise in domain name disputes brought on by cybersquatting activities and the beneficial online trade conditions brought on by the Covid-19 epidemic. It was emphasized that trademark owners around the world have become increasingly vigilant in strengthening their online presence to deliver authentic content and sales to their clients through the internet. The latest regulatory and practical trends on domain name disputes and resolution mechanisms were examined through the scope of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). The role of AIAC as the administrative body for domain name disputes was also discussed. The session, focused on the most recent advancements in the field of ADR, had great participation and interest.
