Marmara University Faculty of Law Unfair Competition Symposium
The 2nd Symposium on Unfair Competition and the Prevention of Anti-Competitive Practices, organized by the Faculty of Law at Marmara University, was held on 28 May 2025, bringing together prominent academics and practitioners in the field.
In the first session of the symposium, titled “Legal Foundations of Unfair Competition,” Erdem & Erdem Competition and Compliance Department Managing Associate Ecem Süsoy Uygun and Associate Nil Zeren Özdemir delivered a presentation entitled: “A Deepening Intersection Between Unfair Competition and Competition Law: An Analysis Within the Scope of Articles 4 and 6 of Law No. 4054.”
In their presentation, Uygun and Özdemir offered a comprehensive analysis of the interplay between unfair competition regulations and competition law. They drew particular attention to the boundary issues and interpretative divergences observed in practice, especially in light of the jurisprudence developed under Articles 4 and 6 of the Law on the Protection of Competition (Law No. 4054).
The session attracted strong interest from participants and provided a productive platform for exchanging academic insights and practical perspectives. The symposium was livestreamed via the YouTube channel of the Department of Private International Law, Faculty of Law, Marmara University.
