13th ICC MENA Conference on International Arbitration
The 13th ICC MENA International Arbitration Conference, which explored the latest trends, developments, and strategies in arbitration and their implications for the MENA region, was held in Abu Dhabi on February 10-11, 2025.
Erdem & Erdem Founding and Senior Partner, Chair of the ICC Commission on Commercial Law and Practice (CLP), and "Ex-Officio" Member of the ICC Institute of World Business Law, Prof. Dr. Ercüment Erdem, participated as a moderator and speaker in the "ICC Institute Advanced Training on Oral Advocacy in International Arbitration: The Good, the Bad, and the In-Between" session held on Monday, February 10, 2025.
The training session commenced with Prof. Dr. Ercüment Erdem's opening speech, followed by an introduction and the presentation of a mock case. Subsequently, participants engaged in two key sessions: "Oral and Written Advocacy: Counsel and Tribunal Perspectives" and "Oral Advocacy, Party Autonomy, and the Determination of the Facts of the Dispute: The Opening Statement at the Hearing," in which Prof. Dr. Ercüment Erdem also participated as a speaker. The program continued with sessions on "Focus on Cross-Examination" and "Oral Advocacy at the Main Hearing," concluding with Prof. Dr. Ercüment Erdem’s closing remarks.
