The Regulation on Environmentally Responsible Design of Energy-Related Products Entered into Force
Regulation on Environmentally Responsible Design of Energy-Related Products (“Regulation”) entered into force through its publication in the Official Gazette dated 05.02.2022 and numbered 31741. The Regulation has abrogated the Regulation on Environmentally Responsible Design of Energy-Related Products (“Abolished Regulation”) dated 10.03.2010. The Regulation aims to comply with the European standards with regard to the environment and environmental issues.
Under Article 2 of the Regulation, it is regulated that the implementation of the Regulation or communiqués published by the authorized institutions shall not prevail over the European Union legislation.
In addition, the provision regulating that the Regulation will not be applied in cases concerning national security and country defense, has been abolished.
If the authorities detect a violation of the harmonized standards, it notifies the European Commission through the Ministry of Commerce.
As it is specified in Article 22, the Regulation is issued within the framework of harmonization with EU legislation.
The Regulation entered into force after its publication on 05.02.2022.
