Amendments to the Renewable Energy Resources Support Mechanism
The Resolution of the President (“Resolution”) numbered 3453 on the Enforcement of the Annexed Resolution on Feed-in Tariff, Implementation Period and Escalation Methods Valid for the Electricity Generation Facilities Holding Renewable Energy Resources Certificate that Start Operating between the dates of 07/01/2021 and 12/31/2025 has been published in the Official Gazette dated January 30, 2021 and numbered 31380.
The amendments made with the Resolution are as follows:
- Feed-in tariff and domestic production incentives by Electricity Market Renewable Energy Resources Support Mechanism (“EMRERSM”) valid for electricity generation facilities with Renewable Energy Resource (“RES”) certificate that shall go into operation between the dates of July 1, 2021 and December 25, 2025 have been established.
- With the new mechanism, the prices are established in Turkish Lira and incentives are decreased.
- For these electricity generation facilities where EMRERSM feed-in tariff implementation period shall be 10 years, domestic production incentive shall be 8 kurus (Turkish Lira cents) per kilowatt/hour and the domestic production incentive period shall be 5 years.
- Prices valid for the electricity generation facilities with RES certificate that shall go into operation in the said period, shall be updated according to an escalation method set by the Resolution and shall be calculated and updated quarterly, in every January, April, July and October starting from January 1, 2021. The first escalation shall take place on April 1, 2021.
