Regulation on Technical Arrangements in Foreign Trade has been Published

The Regulation on Technical Arrangements in Foreign Trade (Regulation) entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette dated 16.08.2023 and numbered 32281. The provisions of the Regulation are summarized below:
- The Regulation covers the technical arrangements to which the foreign trade products will be subject, import and export inspections, the duties and responsibilities of the organizations that will conduct inspections, the responsibilities of the importer and exporter, the measures to be taken and the sanctions to be applied.
- The Regulation provides for the inspection of products subject to export, the certificate of conformity to be issued as a result of the inspection and the official signs that must be present on the product packaging. It is regulated that products subject to regulatory compliance and commercial quality control in exports cannot be exported in the absence of documents showing compliance with the legislation, upon the expiration of the relevant documents and/or in the absence of the required batch number and other official signs on their packaging.
- Separate provisions are included for products exported to European Union member countries and countries other than European Union member countries. The process to be carried out if the exported product is found to be unsuitable for the exporting country is also explained in the Regulation.
