Special Consumption Tax Rates and Base for Some Passenger Cars are Amended
Through the promulgation of the President Decision No. 2912 (“Decision”), published in the Official Gazette dated 30th August 2020 and No. 31229, special consumption tax (“SCT”) rates and SCT base for passenger cars are amended.
Through the decision, the SCT rates and base are amended and increased based on the following categories:
- Passenger cars with engine cylinder volume that does not exceed 1600 cm3
- Passenger cars whose engine cylinder volume exceeds 1600 cm3 but does not exceed 2000 cm3
- Passenger cars with engine cylinder volume exceeding 2000 cm3
The Decision enters into force on the date of its publication.
