SCT Rates on Electric Cars were increased

Through the promulgation of the President Decision No. 3471 (“Decision”), published in the Official Gazette dated 2nd February 2021 and No. 31383, Special Consumption Tax (“SCT”) of electric cars were increased.
Through the Decision, the following changes were made:
- The SCT rate, which was 3% for electric vehicles with an engine power not exceeding 85 kW, is increased to 10%.
- The SCT rate, which was 7% for electric vehicles with an engine power exceeding 85 kW but does not exceeding 120 kW, is increased to 25%.
- The SCT rate, which was 15% for electric vehicles with engine power exceeding 120 kW, increased to 60%.
