Video Conference: Force Majeure in Commercial Contracts during COVID 19 and ICC’s Force Majeure Clauses
A video conference on “Force Majeure in Commercial Contracts during COVID 19 and ICC’s Force Majeure Clauses” organized by International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), was held as livecast on 15 June 2020. In the conference, V.H. Banu Yılmaz, ICC Secretary General of Turkey, hosted Prof. Dr. H. Ercüment Erdem, Founder & Senior Partner of Erdem & Erdem and Chair of the ICC Commercial Law & Practice Commission.
In the conference, the main features of the Force Majeure clauses and ICC’s revised Force Majeure Clauses were focused. In addition, the significant points to be considered in force majeure cases (notification, damage reduction, official evidence, etc.), the interpretation and application of these clauses according to COVID - 19, the innovations and the points to be considered during their use were discussed in detail.
