INCOTERMS 2020 in Action: Strategic Use in Today’s Global Context
On August 6, 2025, the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services and ICC Argentina hosted a webinar titled “INCOTERMS® 2020 in Action: Strategic Use in Today’s Global Context.”
Prof. Dr. H. Ercüment Erdem, Chair of the ICC Global Commission on Commercial Law and Practice and Founder & Senior Partner at Erdem & Erdem, delivered the keynote presentation named “Global Context and the Strategic Role of INCOTERMS® in the Sale of Goods”. His address focused on the global context of cross-border transactions and the strategic role of INCOTERMS® in international sale of goods.
Drawing on his experience as a member of the INCOTERMS® 2020 Drafting Group, Prof. Dr. Erdem shared insights on the practical use of INCOTERMS® in risk allocation, contract structuring, and trade facilitation in an increasingly complex global landscape.
The event gathered international experts and practitioners from across Latin America to explore the evolving application of INCOTERMS® 2020, including key considerations for carriers, insurers, and buyers and sellers navigating current global challenges.
