Energy Law Certification Program October 2024
Erdem & Erdem Managing Associate Ecem Süsoy Uygun gave training on “Data Law, Greenwashing and Ethics in the Energy Sector” on Saturday, October 12, 2024, as part of the Energy Law Certificate Program organized by Yıldız Technical University and Istanbul Institute.
Ecem Süsoy Uygun mentioned that the importance of data use has increased with the acceleration of digitalization in the energy sector; data law plays a strategic role in the management of production, distribution and consumption processes in energy markets and that these processes directly contribute to efficiency. She also emphasized that “greenwashing” practices, which carry the risk of misleading the public by claiming that companies carry out environmentally friendly activities, are against both the law and the ethical principles of the sector; in this context, transparency and adherence to ethical principles are critical for the energy sector to move towards a sustainable future.
Lawyers, engineers and mid-level and senior managers in the energy sector participated in this training, which was organized with the aim of eliminating the gaps in legal knowledge in the rapidly growing and strategically important energy sector and exploring ways to solve the complex problems that arise.
