Regulation Amending the Regulation on the Payment of Wages, Bonuses, Premiums and All Types of Receivables of This Nature via Banks Has Been Published

On June 4, 2025, the Regulation Amending the Regulation on the Payment of Wages, Bonuses, Premiums and All Types of Receivables of This Nature via Banks (Regulation) was published in the Official Gazette No. 32920. 

With the Regulation, Articles 6, 7, 8, and 10 of the Regulation on the Payment of Wages, Bonuses, Premiums and All Types of Receivables of This Nature via Banks (Amended Regulation) were amended, respectively changing the employee thresholds required for the employer’s obligation to make payments via banks to; journalists subject to Law No. 5953, seafarers subject to the Maritime Labor Law, and workers subject to the Labor Law.

Under the Regulation, the condition requiring employers to employ “at least five persons” in order to be subject to the obligation to make payments via banks has been amended to “at least three persons.”

Additionally, Article 7 of the Amended Regulation provides that for employers who employ journalists subject to Law No. 5953, the threshold shall be determined based on the total number of journalists and other employees who fall under the Labor Law. With the amendment, the combined number of such employees has also been revised to a minimum of three.

These amendments will enter into force at the beginning of the month following their publication date.
