The seminar entitled “A Young Perspective on a Well-Established Topic: Differences Between Tax Law, the Turkish Commercial Code and Capital Markets Legislation in Profit Distribution and Their Tax Implications”, organized by the International Fiscal Association (IFA Turkey) – Young IFA Network (YIN Turkey), was held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Erdem & Erdem Law Office’s Istanbul office.

The event, organized by Canan Doksat, Partner and Tax Leader at Erdem & Erdem, aimed to examine the interaction between tax law, company law and capital markets legislation with respect to profit distribution practices. The opening speeches were delivered by Prof. Dr. Billur Yaltı and Canan Doksat.

Moderated by Dursun Küçükaslan, the seminar featured presentations by Nur Sena İnal and Alperen Altaş, who addressed the divergences between the Turkish Commercial Code (TCC), Capital Markets Law (CML) and tax legislation in profit distribution, as well as the practical tax consequences arising from these differences.

During the seminar, key issues regarding the taxation of profit distributions, the normative distinctions between corporate and capital markets regulations, and current practical challenges were discussed from both academic and practitioner-oriented perspectives.
